This is an equipment list for the Mission "Trail of Blood" in the game "Thief II: The
Metal Age" (v. 1.18) by Looking Glass Studios at Lytha.com.
Equipment List
This list is for expert difficulty only. Typically, but not necessarily, you will find more equipment and have more choices in the loadout screen in the lower difficulties.
List of Equipment in "Trail of Blood"
Default inventory and Loadout screen
Well there... you didn't really expect that you could visit your fence for a nice and friendly chat now, after you jumped through that magical portal in the graveyard?
You find in your inventory now all the items and arrows which you didn't use in the last mission (with the exception that the keys and the food disappeared), and because I have no idea which of your items you used in the last mission, I can't provide you with a list of the default inventory.
I really hope you have some water arrows left, though. Water arrows are always a good thing to have... and if you are going for all the loot now in this mission here, it is also fancy to have several (!) healing potions.

About the special items in this mission
There are no keys at all in this mission, so I explain the usage of the special items here.
Key type |
Function |
The rubies |
The two rubies which can be found in randomized locations (each time I played so far, they were in different places) in the Pagan Village, are used on the eyes of the face in the temple (NE from the village) as if they were keys. You need both rubies to see the effect, though, and all of the torches in the temple have to be lit. |
Dewdrop |
Dewdrop will only have any effect (besides reminding you of the fate of the pagans in the course of this mission) when you have patched the game. To learn about her abilities, you should approach a Mechanist in a dull and clumsy way (it seems to work best with the invulnerable Mechanists who patrols around the temple (we are talking about Expert difficulty here)). To specify dull and clumsy more precisely: Run into his arms and start a friendly conversation with him. Say i.e. "hello, Mr. Mechanist. Don't you think you look stupid with that mask?"... (well, you get the meaning). As soon as he starts swinging his club vehementely into your face, or maybe after you are down to only a few hitpoints, Dewdrop will be activated automatically.
Dewdrop has only 1 charge left, so don't expect this to happen twice in a mission. |
A healing fruit |
While normal food has only a 1/3 chance to heal 1 hitpoint, the special healing fruits of the Trickster's Minions are always good for healing some critical wounds. Eat them as if they were normal food. They have no known negative side-effects (well, maybe you will be stoned a bit or your voice will sound as stoned as the voices of the Apes, or you need to shave yourself a bit more intensively in the next morning... but maybe some women would like you in that way better than usually (and wouldn't rip out your eyes when you meet them...)) ;) |
